Keeping with the same part of the world invoked by the intro track, 'The Winter Underground' was created to soundscape the wide, surreal expanses of the Russian tundra and the slowly crumbling ideology of the Soviet USSR.

History confirms just how much of 20th Century Russia was illusionary and weird, essentially a mass distortion of cultural reality - the echoes of which still ring out loudly today.
